Tazio, unless the 'specials' a fixie I'd suggest another brake otherwise its not street legal. Polis often crack down on bikes in September as the nights draw in for having no lights so they might notice you've only one brake

The rear brake only is a temporary state due to being too lazy to go to the shop for a brake cable. Only having a rear brake could be expensive as well as it makes you behave like a child and do skids for the fun of it.

This might sound a bit stingy and un-weight-weeny, but I keep old cassettes to recycle the sprockets and/or spacers as spacers on wheels for 8 or 9 speed when I'm running 7 or 8. And I eat the heels of loaves and cut mould off cheese.
