Probably old news to some of you but today I found out how to run a tapered steerers in a straight head tube.
Good new as modern straight steerer forks are becoming hard to find.

Pretty sure I used a Hope external lower headset cup to run a tapered steerer in a STRAIGHT headtube few years ago. BUT the head tube has to be a certain diameter I think. It's all a bit of a minefield tbh.

Funnily enough, I'm now running a straight steerer in a TAPERED head tube using a headset reducer race

I'm gonna try this out on a couple of builds, Santacruz Bullet and a Specialized Enduro Pro, 160mm and 150mm travel forks respectively.

Yeah, some 1"1/8 headtube can be adapted with the external lower race.
But some can't, like my Inbred 29er :roll:
If it'll take 44mm internal/integrated headset then should be ok.
