Task -remove x9 cranks to fit to the on one and put the new rotor cranks on the ti.
Cant get the pedals off the X9. I anti seize everything religiously,but its as tight as tight gets and my hands are ripped from it so to the lbs and they can do it.
Any more and ill either break something or score it all to hell.

Fit hope bb to the ti- Simples ? Not a bit of it
BB fitted, spacers correctly fitted, but theres not a lot of non drive crank to fit the other arm onto. I muyst have done something wrong. Though to remove a drive side spacer puts the arms to the point they dont clear the front mech at all, and currently with the double spacer they still foul the mech.
Oh yes, im also wishing i hadnt started this

You think that's bad. You should try figuring out vintage campag for an italian threaded frame! Multiple variations of symmetrical/asymmetrical axles and lengths that vary by just 2mm and look identical in your hands. Bottom brackets were always a pain in the arse until cartridge ones came long. That was the sweet spot for easy fitting and lack of maintenance.

Also, Rotor cranks, very posh! You go for oval?

No, just the standard.I had the opportunity as the arms dont come with rings, but ive the biopace there which is used 4 times a week, so just stuck with the usual.
Wiggle messed up and i got the arms for 1/4 new price. Though ended up with 3 rings one of which is the wrong bcd Its been a journey

I think its the crank thats the problem :? chainlines going to be something exact not the usual +/- 1/4" I'll get it. Probably strip that end completely and start one bit at a time. Lie on the floor and look up at it.

No K, these are the Rex 3.2 and if anything the ti is quite narrow at the stays :?
There was a bit of rotor pr somewhere on this.



I'll be probably best to fit the x9, take some measurements- outer to tube center etc, see if any solution springs out at me.

I'm sure you'll sort it out, it will most likely be one of those lightbulb type moments and it will all seem so obvious. Had a similar type compatibility issue when I tried to fit my Dura Ace stuff to the Mercian, just for a quick build ride round the block, to see if the rear mech was straightened enough. What a faff, needed longer drop brakes, mech wasn't compatible with modern 8 speed cassette I had. Sometimes you think a quick, easy build, just to see, and then it frustrates so much
At least mine was old gear on an old frame, really just to see so when I did build it I would know which newer stuff to buy. Must be doubly frustrating when you have just brought the new stuff.
Your right, the kayak/canoe is simple and little to go wrong but easy to operate is not always that easy, especially in the surf. Getting thrown off doesn't hurt as much as the bike

I did a little canoeing years ago Jamie. Small Lochs and a few rivers, but not in the surf.
Had a couple of neighbours growing up who were sea canoeists, I remember the like rudders their boats had and the watertight lids on the decks.
I enjoyed it, especially the exploring around normally inaccessible areas and islands. But we never really got into it enough to try anything challenging. In fact i dont think bar a couple of times i had to abandon boat while upside down

Yesterday I helped set up the venue for a Karate competition and today I went to the competition on the bike (I wasn't competing BTW) and clocked up 25 mile and a was fleein :twisted:
