And today I did......

Re:

What clubby says +1

I'm also now in the hefty tyre fan club too, Schwalbe Super Gravity ftw. So many cringey moments as I've rattled the rim (ooh arr) but came out unscathed.

If you have tubeless ready rims and need new tyres anyway I think you should at least try it. The sealant, tape and valves are £25 tops, so you won't break the bank. Just remember to experiment with pressures. No point running the old high pressures you think you need.

Actually its £45 for a Stans standard kit for two wheels.

Re:

Kits contain the rubber rim strips that you don't need if using proper tubeless parts. All you need priced on nextdaytyres.co.uk

Stans sealant pint £12.49 ( 8 wheels worth)
Pair of Stans valves £11.99
Stans tape £11.99 ( does 4 wheels)

Re:

Stan's Notubes Standard tubeless kit 26" or 24" presta valve.
Kit Contains
2 molded rim strips with integrated valves
12oz red scoop
16oz Stan's tire sealant
1 roll of universal kit tape
Detailed installation instructions
No Tubes decals

CRC £44.99

Nextdaytyres £47.99

Re:

I use gorilla tape these days, many folks use electrical tape. Valves can be had cheaper.

Re:

i turbocharged myself today :D

(and I'm a long-term 'proper' tubeless rim user and advocate of, and a recent user of NOT 'proper' tubeless rims which aren't as good.....just my two pence worth  )

* proper = welded rims, not taped-over spoke holes

We all love rollers :) Even set up in the doorway I could still end up shoulder barging the frame and jamming a wheel on the opposite side :)

Tonight I should have been out getting a few miles in after work, getting ready for SSUK down at Coventry this weekend, especially as it was such a glorious day up here with it being 24 degrees late morning. Instead when I finished at 5.30 I headed for the beach as Heather and Caleb were already there with the body boards and the surf kayak and my gear. They had been there since Caleb got out of school with a few of the others.
Wind was picking up but it was as usual a great couple of hours paddling and playing about. The same as a ride in that it washed all the daily work stuff away with it. Really liking this kayak as its fast and handles great once you work it out. It surfs effortlessly.
Trying to make the most of the nice weather while its about, especially as the water temp was quite nice tonight, despite it being overcast this afternoon.
Anyway just thought I would share. Hope the weather was good for the rest of you and long may it last.
(Pic is from last week at same place as didn't take any tonight)
