And today I did......

Re:

Took an old friend, the guy I did all my white water canoeing with, Munro-bagging, rock and ice-climbing too, round Blairadam today in the sunshine.
He'll be the first to agree he's not a mountain biker but he enjoyed it a lot. Especially since he was riding a very old Saracen Tufftrax that I build him 20 odd years ago.
It has suspension forks and V-brakes now but it's still going strong.
Did all the trails up to and including the Brick Road and he managed fine. I thought the Chocslide and the Renthal Run would probably have had him off the bike on his face so stayed well clear. Knowing him though he'd have given it a go just so I didn't beat him and there's every possibility if he came out with me again he'll only get better.
He's keen to get one of the other guys we climbed with who was/is a decent mountain biker into Blairadam next time as he couldn't get a hold of him for today. If it doesn't pish doon too much tonight and into next week maybe give it a go with them.

Re:

Eh, which of them are you talking about? ;)

My mate is a year older than me, he was the year in front of me at Uni, the other guy is older than him.
They both still climb to a reasonable standard and are just back from a climbing week in Spain. Lucky auld basturts.

Canny beat lamb chops. Traditional Scottish breakfast :D
Single loin, crispy on the fat.

When we made the steak pies we put a little lamb in with the stew as it helps the flavour by sweetening it.
Wee butchers trick for yez there ;) A lamb chop into any beef stew makes a real difference, but trim all the fat off it first.

Table coming on now ive mostly sorted the legs, though that said theyre not complete and theres some side pieces to fit.
Middle section(in the hole) is a sphere. Fixed lower half with the upper being removable.
Given its for a garden you can hide the cream cakes inside, safe from insects :D

Legs will be 2 tone, side bits to be fitted will get stained to compliment the top. Then Scottish winter surviving levels of varnish.

Re:

Smart table Dyna............I know, rare of me to say something nice but it is a smart table ;)

Mind you the leg design looks a bit modern, a bit CAD, might look great with carbon fibre finish or polished alloy look but not sure it suits wood. Mind you still well executed !
