When I received my RC100 purchased through eBay it came with a modernish FSA headset. I replaced it with a more period correct Dia-Compe Aheadset.

They always remind me of my old garden barrow i built years ago. That was silver box section roughly welded togeter too.!

Some things are best left in / to museums.

You can now buy these frames in steel as a diy project with various options of tube thickness and added lightness already machined in as well as optional extras to attach mudguards, bottle holders and the odd LED batten;

The price for the smaller one is dropping quickly, so the seller is clearly motivated to sell it. Just depends if there is a market for it now.

That sold far more cheaply than I though it would, I missed the end of the auction assuming it’d go at least double the final sale price. Gutted!

Nice project for someone, but also one very expensive project if you wanted to bring it back to its former glory. I wouldn’t say it was cheap, based on todays market, but some makes/models are still commanding solid prices.

It's a lot cheaper than
"buyer's remorse" ,
but a lot less fun
