A brace of scrapheap finds!

Of course I need more bike projects like I need a hole in the head... But... I just couldn’t leave these two looking so forlorn in my local waste transfer station this morning.. typical, I take a van load of scrap in and bring two (more) bikes home.
Thank Christ the missus is an understanding sort.. .

Cheers, thanks I’m liking the MBK 700c the most - should be cool once I get finished with it.
Nah my local tip will point blank never let you take/buy anything. These came from a local independent steel stockholder/scrap metal/waste recyclers. I’ve used them for years and they’re good people - when interesting stuff comes in they put it aside to sell for beer money. I paid £30 for these two.

I wonder if the fork inspired Cannondale?

Not a clue regarding the extension but wouldn't want to crash into it!

Very cool. Our local transfer stations are also run by idiots, who'd rather see bikes sent to the crusher than save them.

I don’t even bother looking now at the tip, it’d break my heart if I saw something decent there with no way of saving it!

The Claud cleaned up well, and is already on Gumtree awaiting a new owner!
