Here's my 92 Marin Team Issue saved from the dump. All the kit on it was on it when it was rescued, except for the stem, levers/shifters, tyres, post and saddle.
It had Machine Tech levers on it and SRAM SRT800 gripshift, but I sold the levers to buy a pair of Shimano M900 shifter levers and new disk pads. The tyres are Marin Lite off my old Eldridge Grade. The stem was an awful I-beam.
I had to rebuild and repaint the Mag21s.
Someone has added terrible cable guides (two of which appear to face the wrong direction!). I'm going to ride it a while and if I really like it I'll cut off the extra guides and get it powdercoated as the nickel plating is not in the best condition. I'm a bit nervous about trying to cut/grind the rear brake bosses off in case I damage the stays.
It's not the most stylish, or tasteful with the mix of blue, purple and red, but I like it, except perhaps for the red bar & pedals, and best of all it's not cost me a penny.
Just needs grips and some parts that the good people at Hope are sending me and it should be rideable again.
