In my opinion, straight leg BMX conversion will get you away from Gary's bike. That's a major change to the look of the machine. I've always felt BMX front is a little incongruous with a derailleur at the rear, but that's personal preference. BMX fork might make the drum arm a little bit more difficult too, harder to find a clamp to fit the wider tube. Another option would be a vintage threaded BMX stem with the og fork and an old moto bar, used ones from an actual dirt bike are surprisingly affordable
