40’s Schwinn DX klunker Build?

In my opinion, straight leg BMX conversion will get you away from Gary's bike. That's a major change to the look of the machine. I've always felt BMX front is a little incongruous with a derailleur at the rear, but that's personal preference. BMX fork might make the drum arm a little bit more difficult too, harder to find a clamp to fit the wider tube. Another option would be a vintage threaded BMX stem with the og fork and an old moto bar, used ones from an actual dirt bike are surprisingly affordable

Picked up a parts box for twenty bucks. I spotted this in the pic and hoped it was an original Tuf-Neck. As luck would have it looks like the Schwinn getting a new seat post collar. Needs some clean up but should end up real nice.
