Cleaned and straightened the fenders. Not keeping them as this build is going Klunker not cruiser. They are available to anyone that wants them for cost of shipping. Next up is disassembling. Happy father’s day to all the dads out there. Cheers!

Long way from getting this where I want but excited about the journey. Was surprised that the rear drop out spacing was perfect for this hub.

Question, should I 1. Stick with original fork, find truss bars and use Wald bars or 2 get bmx style fork with moto bars threadless headset conversion? The build is somewhat copying Gary Fisher klunker which can be seen at Alan bond’s klunkers site.

In my opinion, straight leg BMX conversion will get you away from Gary's bike. That's a major change to the look of the machine. I've always felt BMX front is a little incongruous with a derailleur at the rear, but that's personal preference. BMX fork might make the drum arm a little bit more difficult too, harder to find a clamp to fit the wider tube. Another option would be a vintage threaded BMX stem with the og fork and an old moto bar, used ones from an actual dirt bike are surprisingly affordable

Picked up a parts box for twenty bucks. I spotted this in the pic and hoped it was an original Tuf-Neck. As luck would have it looks like the Schwinn getting a new seat post collar. Needs some clean up but should end up real nice.

Picked up a Renthal handle bar today for $20 gonna be perfect 760mm wide think 3” rise

Renthal bars added. Didn’t have alot of time so never got to add brakes and shifters to the other side but think they look pretty good.
