Some 15 years ago in the mid 90's when I was 17, I lusted for the triple triangle chromoly steel GT's of the time but couldn't afford one due to an expensive college course and the inability to get a Saturday job, possibly due to only looking about 13 :cry: (those scornful looks at job interview, those scornful looks). I could barely rub two five pound notes together, and had to 'make do' with my 40lb high tensile Raleigh. Now I finally have a GT of the period to personlize... there was always that void or craving for one to be honest. Well, I scored this used size 18", "Team Scream" GT Tequesta frameset one night back in May off ebay for just under £30 (high bid beat off 2 other last gasp bidders - went a bit higher than what I expected) but have only just got around to doing it up and gathering of the parts over the past month. A total strip is on the cards as the frame has some surface rust problems that need attacking with fine grade sandpaper. I plan to have it powdercoated early new year, was thinking of keeping it blue, a navy blue, but decided on a maroon or rather deep red instead (RAL 3007) paired with high polish silver components, brown saddle and grips. I like the vintage cars with this colour scheme, hence the idea. Drive will mostly be STX of the period, which I have had lurking under the kitchen sink for many years. The whole bike should be up and rolling by the end of January.
