It was indeed stuck as was the Quill Stem and Bottom Bracket...Took ages to free them all up.. and more patience than I thought I had!Great job, I love a neglected bike. I saw the seatpost without saddle in the first photo and thought that’s defo stuck! That would have been enough for me to move on.. Sounds like it quite a challenge getting the other bits off too as an added bonus
It becomes personal. I often chat to the frames telling them that I will win in the end so you might as well play ball nowIt was indeed stuck as was the Quill Stem and Bottom Bracket...Took ages to free them all up.. and more patience than I thought I had!
Haha... nice to hear someone else does that too!! The worst one I have had was in a Ti frame that I had to cut out with a hacksaw.... took me 9 weeks... cut a little bit, get annoyed, put frame back in the shed..repeat How I didn't launch that frame in to the bushes I don't know!!It becomes personal. Cheers! I don't think the Tioga seat post was original, but I liked it (once I finally got it out!)It seems like a great reconstruction job to me.
You have brought that little wonder back to life.
Congratulations.
I love the seat post, very appropriate
That Tioga was the orginal post that came with the bike, so you did really well to free it and keep it with the bike!Cheers! I don't think the Tioga seat post was original, but I liked it (once I finally got it out!)
That's good to know! I've seen pictures both with and without it... so wasn't sureThat Tioga was the orginal post that came with the bike, so you did really well to free it and keep it with the bike!
More so back then the specs in catalogue or photographs in ads wasn't always what hit the shops. Agree I have seen it with a plain black laidback seat clamp as well as the inline Tioga which I have seen more commonly which also then matches the Tioga Prestige handlebarsThat's good to know!
