1992 Marin Team Issue rescue - Finshed pics on page 8

Re: 1992 Marin Team Issue rescue

Wtf  , you were suppose to be on a test ride not a bike project shopping trip  even though it is a bit of an icon i certainly wasn't expecting it  but on the other hand i really love it  ..

Re: 1992 Marin Team Issue rescue

I had spotted it looking unloved a few days ago and knocked but no one was in, today my luck was in. Meant I had to walk home with one bike in each hand for a mile or so. Sorted the Marin's saddle position though and I can't wait to go off-road on he tomorrow.

The Mavericks gone to the back of the garage for now but I'm sure a build thread will appear in the not too distant future. Loving the wide bars, very modern ;)

Re: 1992 Marin Team Issue rescue

Aha! so you've had the Raliegh on your mind for a short while then Tim so that explains it's sudden appearance on here then  ..
I walked 3 miles home with 2 bikes back in the mid 80s after popping into a bike shop only for a quick look round while out on a weekend ride  so admitedly i got a few strange looks on the way home but i couldn't care less  ..

Yes i'm quite pleased to see you rescuing this little gem and i bet you were feeling quite chuffed with yourself when you got it and quite right too ;) ..

Those wide bars look like 80s design mind you i think it is an 80s bike isn't it but yes i understand you putting the Maverick to one side for now with all that you have on the go atm but i'm looking forward to seeing it sorted when you've got your current projects done ..

So glad you've sorted the saddle position on the lovely Marin and can't wait for the ride update on it later on ;) ..
