1960 Peugeot PX10.

Yeah reckon there will be Scooter...any excuse to get out of tiling the bathroom or repainting the bedroom an awful shade of pink. Time to finish the man cave, I'm thinking of knocking a hatch through to the kitchen so meals and beverages can be delivered on demand.... isolated with my retro bikes...superb. Got plenty of builds to get on with which I'll have to try and fit in around my grueling training schedule.

The frame has cleaned up really well after a thorough degrease, then polished with Mer. The chrome on the forks and rear triangle is virtually unblemished and the paint around the bottom bracket looks fresh. Top tube has some marking and has had some kind of bag or satchel hanging from it. Over time the bottom corners have rubbed through the paint on seat and down tube. Still got bars, stem and brake levers to polish and saving the worst job till last... polishing up the wheels

The IGOL pin-up girl decal dates from the 50/60's and was probably put on by the original owner, possibly working in automotive engineering environment judging by the amount of thick grime coating the PX. IGOL is a French lubricant manufacturer and used different pin-up girls in their advertising... nice to glance down while shifting and see a pretty girl between your legs.
Cheers for your encouraging comments guys. :D

Re:

Polished up the bars, stem and seat-pin the weekend using fine grit sandpaper on the deeper scratches first to get the worst out. Then onto 600 grade wet & dry paper followed by 1200 grade with plenty of water, finished off with a buff with Solvo. Some of the deep scuffs still show and the finish is more bright satin which is probably nearer to original rather than mirror finish. The seat- pin is really short and light but no markings, so not sure what make.

Bars are AVA Criterium, nice and skinny measuring 37cm C-C at the front of the bends.

While I'm in retro memory mode, don't forget to check the stem for cracks where the slots have been cut for expansion.
Stem is by AVA with 80mm reach...had a close inspection for any cracking and all seems well.. thanks for the heads-up Shaun. :D
