    from my experience he's safe from the crackheads. They nick anything full sus but leave the pimp hardtails well alone. I had a fisher cake and a cannondale jekyll stolen before i went back to riding a ti hardtail. it never gets a second look.

    i think i cleaned mine once... i used to clean once a week. sunday morning was the ride, then sunday afternoon was a complete stripdown and rebuild. These days the mountain bike gets cleaned when it becomes too heavy to ride, and the road bike... well i think its done 2000 miles since the last...

    Don't have any of the 3 pearl white peugeot rangers or the raleigh discovery i bent, or the saracen traverse limited edition that got converted to a commuter when i was at college. I do still have the Orange C16 which was my first real MTB.

    I found a way of fitting forks that haven't got a long enough steerer. Use a headlock to tension the bearings and a seatclamp to hold. Then remove the headlock and fit a quill stem.

    i've got an a2z adapter on the back of my bike... 2000 model rock lobster ti, and I'm running deore hydraulic disks with xt thumbies (bought them new in 1990) i run the brake levers pretty low so the gear levers are at a sensible angle.
