'91 Orange Prestige, non of the original bits that were on it when it was gifted to me but it was bought as a frame to begin with and the original owner took all the bits that he had on it with him to his next bike, so was made up of his spare parts.

my current project which i will be making a post on soon.

Still have my 97 Zaskar. Not sure whether I count this as my first mtb though :? . When I were a lad a raleigh hack with cow bars was the closest you go to a mtb

Don't sadly - it was a Specialized Hardrock, way too big for me at 19inches, but a bargain from Sale Cycles (owned by Halfords so I got a staff discount too) at 149.00 less staff discount. It was a bit of a revalation even at 3 inches too big. I learned to jump and trackstand on it.
Dark Metallic blue, Suntour gear, very nice. later that year I got my then wife a Hardrock Comp that had been sitting around in another branch, fitted it out with new gear from stock to replace all the cannibalised bits - all perfectly above board, and got it for 111 quid. Result :)

Sadly not. but then it was too big for me anyway ;)

Bl**dy salesmen at Warwick cycles.

Chris.

Don't have any of the 3 pearl white peugeot rangers or the raleigh discovery i bent, or the saracen traverse limited edition that got converted to a commuter when i was at college.
I do still have the Orange C16 which was my first real MTB.

My first proper MTB was a Muddy Fox Courier comp (lime green one), got it for Crimbo back in 1990.

Had it for ages but gave it to a mate a few years back and it sat in his garage, f**k knows what's happened to it now as he's moved and it's probably been chucked

First one was a pink/black Batavus Buster wit those round bended bar and STX-SE (or RC what was it...) componenets.

Wish I still had it, well maybe just nostalgic but it rode horrible.

First one I now regret that I have sold it was a Cannondale Killer V500 in gold anodized black with P-bone forks. Also with STX SE and LX rear.
