7 spd on 8 spd cassette

My ickle brother has a Cannondale that he's doing up. It has 7 spd on the back and he's looking for new wheels. If he buys a set with an 8 spd cassette, can he still get the 4.5mm spacers necessary to run with his existing set-up? Thanks DM

    need some gt frames

Quick thread hijack - sorry in advance. You lot seem to know loads about GT frames. I'm after building up a GT for XC, poss trials and some of the lairier trails at Cannock Chase. My Dynatech just doesn't cut it. I was thinking Zaskar, but if you know better, what else should I be looking...

There's a bloke on the Chase Trails/Midlands MTB forums who uses DogCamSport kit to make videos for Chase Trails fans to peruse over - the kinl to the kit is here.

    I want a helmet cam

You need a Sport-Cam kit. They sell them on eBay amongst other places. Have a look at this for example - £55+£6.95 P&P. Sport Cam have their own website too - mentioned on the listing. I know a few motorcyclists who use this kit quite effectively. This kit is £105 - no camera included -...

    Rare Retrobikes...

Apologies - no time to read the whole thread, but bikes I've not seen outside of a mag and very vague descriptions: Mongoose Amplifier - twin downtube full susser meant to be as good as a rigid - insofar as suspension movement elimination is concerned. Kona Custom Cruiser (I think) -...

What forks/max suspension on my 1995 Dynatech Diablo frame?

So, what'll it take? Is there something I need to measure to calculate maximum front suspension travel? Cheers DM

    Whats this??

It's been relisted. Looks like a dodgy listing to me, summat not quite right about it. It DOES look very Kirk-esque, you're right, doubt it's carbon though.

Boo Hoo - look at my Pace fork internals

Pace RC35MXCD. Have PM'ed justbackdated for supplies. Looking at them, I suspect the bloke who sold me them on eBay some time ago fibbed ever so slightly about having them serviced by Pace every six months. Whatever, I stacked on a pothole/root combo hard enough to flip me when the forks...

    Skint...but needing forks...what should I use?

Have some Pace RC35 MXCDs. Believe elastomers to have died in a stack, so needing replacement. Forks this old? Not looking good or likely. So, what else should I fit? Had the Pace off eBay for £38. Recommend me something of similar travel but equal or better performance. Frame is part...

    Newbie saying hello

Cheers mate. Other site? Puzzled... Get out over Cannock Chase quite a bit just lately, once with a bunch off another forum and mostly with mates from work - we're trying to be more organised about it and do it weekly if possible...we're fortunate to have the time available mid-week too as we...
