What was the difference between the Bravado and the Bravado LE ?

Name not much really. Except 1992 ( made in Japan by Toyo) they were all Taiwan built and TIG welded usually with the lightest chromoly available the year they were produced. All years it was basically a full XT group on the bike.

Just had a look on my 92 and it says True Temper GTX Ultra 3 made in USA.

Yes...the true temper tubing was made in the USA then sent to Taiwan where it was jigged and TIG welded into a frame, primed, painted, decaled, clear coated and packed into a box and shipped by container to the country of destination. :D

Ah right, So the made in the USA thing is a bit of a con then, Well you learn something new everyday. Still cracking ride though wherever it was built

Quick thread hijack - sorry in advance.

You lot seem to know loads about GT frames. I'm after building up a GT for XC, poss trials and some of the lairier trails at Cannock Chase. My Dynatech just doesn't cut it. I was thinking Zaskar, but if you know better, what else should I be looking for?

Also, can anyone give a run down of frames & materials over the years?

PM me if you like - it'll avoid hi-jacking the thread further.

Cheers. And sorry again.
