    Voodoo

Re: Though I like the look of flat bars for retro bikes, I understand it's a personal fit thing. Love the Zmax style tires on the rear, but never found a taste for them on the front. Minor personal taste stuff, all that. Best of all, that Marzocchi turned the bike from very nice to totally...

1997 Kona Hot Stars n Bars

Re: hot I'm not often a fan of the old frame with non-period parts builds, but ya, that Hot rocks! Looks like a lot of fun.

    1994 Rocky Mountain Altitude

Re: the '94 It's very nice, but I think the Syncros sten just looked right. I know the Ti post tough not to use, I'd like to see it with a black Syncros post and stem.

    My Kona Explosif -97

Re: Explosif Awesome. From Ferndale to Finland, old Kona's just look right - especially in the woods. Nice one.

Brodie Sizeswap was catalyst now sovereign

Re: My first thought was, "Are you nuts?" Then I saw the Sovereign and thought, "Love the yellow." Good swap. Good job.

    Merlin Titanium

Re: Alright! That's the right direction. Gonna slap those canti's on 'er? That Mitsuboshi SuperHeat that was on it is a good tire. (Wish I could get some of 'em.) If you have room for it in that rigid fork, it's got good cushion, and wow do they corner with confidence. I'd be lookin' for...

Retrobike Bike of The Month June 2014 - VOTE!

As much as I love the land shark's paint, and as much as I'm a victim for Merlins, Moutain Goats, and Bontragers, none of them get my vote. For me, it's the Phoenix; a Siren that gently calls out, "Ride me." We'd make beautiful music together.

My Merlin XLM (usable, perhaps not finished!)

Very nice. The fork, the brakes, the Flite. I like the change of stem, too. Purple's great on an otherwise monochrome canvas. If I had an XLM, though, I'd want a suspension fork on it because we'd be spending too much time in the woods!

1997 Rocky Mountain Altitude t.o. ... Updated PICS

Re: the t.o. Ah, she looks great. I've got one hanging on the wall waiting for me to decide which fork, wheelset, and fromt brake to use. You've set the bar high. Nice build. Those controls look fine just like that. Please, get those Bontrager rims laced up though. The Mavics are fine...

    Thunderbolt with raceface and XT!

Re: naming rocky's Ya, what's up RM? An Altitude is a high end steel rig, not some super-squish land yacht! Likewise, the Thunderbolt. How about a limited run re-release of one of these models? It was done with the Blizzard. Or maybe just come up with some new model names instead of...

    1993 Rocky Mountain Altitude

Oh yeah. I have to agree with the XTR rapidfire combo suggestion unless you have a real thing for thumbies. To taste for me would include Conti's and a Mag-21, but otherwise, I'm ready to take it for a ride! Really, though, it's so awesome that even a cynical cat has to check it out. Stamp...

    1993 Klein Adroit Mardi Gras

Awesome. One of my favourite frames. Yep, the black parts cinch it. They named that paint scheme so appropriately. That paint is a total party!

BIKE OF THE YEAR 2013 **VOTE NOW**

Congratulations to all of you who own those bikes. What a tough choice. Still, after looking over the entries a couple of times, it was still the Fat that I found most adorable.

    Klein Adroit Rainforest 1993

The most beautiful finish on the most beautifully finished bikes. Razor sharp handling in the tightest singletrack, too. Wow. Lucky guy.

Bike of The Month Jan 2014 - Nominations!

Well, set up is a personal issue (see seat, stem, and a Smoke on the front), but that's really the first DBR that I've ever wanted. Nice. But vs a rigid Brodie? Oh that's tough.
