Automatic Windows update kills internet connection

I bet you're running Zonealarm personal firewall.. The Windows update is to address a flaw in the DNS system however it kills Zonealarm. I've got my XP machine set to not update, will do it once Zonealarm issue an update. The Windows patch for DNS flaw isn't that critical in my view. Paddy

    Marzocchi Canti-stop adapter bolts..

Ah, this basically seems to be just a cable stop and fits with 2 (allen head I think) bolts. They look to be pretty slim but long.

    First Post Surgery Ride!

Trevor - As a fellow sufferer you have my sympathies. I've had 4 general anesthetic ops now but the good news is they can and do heal. After my last op when the surgeon may as well have donned a head torch and gone caving, they dug that far in, I've not had one since. First one I had was aged...

    Help needed by a newbie?

I'm with TheKen on this one, buy cheaper new stuff to get you up and running (assuming it's going to be a rider rather than an ornament).. Then keep a look out on here and fleabay for more original parts you want and change the bits over a period of time. It's exactly what I'm doing with mine.

Can't really add anything other than another yes. Many people now have laptops rather than desktops and use external keyboards / mice and monitors.

Rear Mech's - Am I the only one...

And to bring some closure on this one, thanks to all for the pointers and advice. I dived straight into the garage when I got home from work, this time I actually knew what to do and it took all of 3 minutes to get the shifting back to being sweet as a nut! Cheers Paddy
