Today's Ride

Another beautiful day today so me and a mate opted for an early drive up to Gisburn forest (trail centre). Was mega peaceful - just birdsong - and the trails were running bone dry and fast; hard going on a hardtail down the black runs but I've still got the skills . I forget how much I love cutting into berms at the limit of the tyres, so it's nice to have a refresh on this 'genre' of mtb-ing at a purpose-built place.

Today's ride was a short one on the new bontrager. Short because I forgot to tighten the post clamp properly and then forgot my multi tool, so spent most of the ride with my knees around my ears
And that's more of a Saturday night activity.

Its a bare bones 1937 Fleetwood Supreme. I would eventually like to find something from the time period to pull the stays together maybe a reflector or rear fender.

Ah ha! I see now, they sure built em sturdy! Certainly got lots of options.. a little twin wheel trailer for trekking and wild camping would look neat.

Chilled ride around Preston guild wheel

After a weekend feeling under the weather, it was a short and chilled ride this afternoon. Grey but pleasant outside, it was peaceful, without too many people about, and good to stretch my legs. I stopped for a brief stroll through Westgate Gardens on the way back.
