zip-ties on rear mechs?

Hi it’s to hold the mech together when it’s a “rapid rise” version, makes it look nicer in the pics.

The non rapid rise versions have the red plastic stopper as well. Oh I see, many thanks for the replies. So the zip-ties are supplied by Shimano to fit in the box better? Didn't think about the rapid rise aspect.
 
It's a trap to catch the unwary :shock:

You open it and cut through the zippy, where it launches itself in the air but only after trapping your fingers in the mechanism.
 
I had a rapid rise. It worked about the same. Annoying to have to relearn a lifetime of shifting. Shimano must have been short of new ideas.
