Declan Hicks was the owner and it was run out of an old forge in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Is that the same place that became Moto and then subsequently Beyond Mtb's in Cranleigh, at SmithBrook Kilns?

Nope, he was through Cranleigh itself and just out the other side... I had the good fortune to spend a week's work experience with Declan in '92 (I think!) when I was doing Design/Tech in the 6th Form at school - all his stuff was designed on a mid-range Apple Mac iirc, and yeah, I remember his Saab Turbo too! We went for a couple of blasts round Pitch Hill too, got to ride his fully-tricked ProFlex which still stands as the most expensive bike I've ridden. Shame I don't have any Zero components anymore, just a few black/fluoro yellow stickers...

Saw him on Telly

He was on telly a couple of weeks ago (Declan) on The Gadget Show, making a leaf-blower powered cart for one of the presenters.

Ah - look at that - seems to be doing ok for himself now
