Your 1st MTB

Whats the bet that the now extinct Grifter/Boxer/Striker saddle eating worm left you both with plates of rusty steel to sit on!!!

im in the process of restoring my first mountain bike after seeing a pic of one on here

This IS my first mtb 93 Cannondale, keep meaning to put it back together but never seem to do it.

My 1st 'ATB' was a Raleigh Marauder. Had fun on it, but was total crap and wouldn't want another !! :x
1st 'proper' MTB was a 1989 Diamond Back Ascent, sold loads at the shop I worked at, at the time, would have one of those again.......So where are they ????

My first was a Peugeot Lynx in 88 i think, dont miss it one bit. My first proper MTB was a Ridgeback 602 in 89, white with blue spatter, was about 3 sizes too big for me, did my first few races on it though but wouldnt want either of them now, both of them were horrible to ride

Don't have my first - '91 Fire Mountain - gave it away for the right reasons at the time, and wish I hadn't.

Thought about getting/building up a replica but other builds have made me realise that I want my bike back - a replica wouldn't be the same.

So if you see a blue 18" Fire Mountain, STX RC groupset, with black smooth x-lite ski barends and a selection of MintSauce/X-Lite stickers in the South Bedfordshire area, let me know.

My first proper MTB was an '89 Lava Dome, yellow splatter. Loved it and would love another.

The first MTB i rode was a Funk, in neon pink. From the moment I saw it I was hooked. I got a Raleigh Maverick but it didn't measure up, and after 3 broken frames I went shopping for something better.

Next bike I tried was a Pace RC100 at Walton St. Cycles in Oxford, who sold me my Kona. I still lusted after the RC100 for years, then finally got an RC200 in 1994. It's still my main bike :D
