Xtr m970 crank bolt alternative?

I'll have a look at mine, got one not fitted but I doubt it's threaded strangely as it fits into a standard threaded BB.

Thinking about your left hand thread comment. The arm does have a reverse thread on it. This is for the special extractor tool to screw into, creating a self extracting arrangement for the BB bolt to push against for removal. Once you've got the cranks fitted, there is a plastic threaded ring which screws in to stop it filling full of mud.

Logic should dictate a bolt must exist that fits on to the axle and screws down against the crank arm as it's a standard diameter axle, but it needs to allow the extractor tool to fit in around it for removal.

Interestingly I've found an aftermarket alternative specifically for m970 cranks. Even has a blanking bung for the drive side.

Annoyingly in Australia and no shipping to UK, but have put feelers out for help getting to the UK. If I can find someone to do that, I'll order more than I need and will have some spares to help anyone out.

Let's hope I can find someone to help with postage.

Ive got a good friend in Australia who I am sure would order some and send them on.

Sorted now. I bought a few of these to keep me going. Have a few spares I'll release into the wild too

Carbon with a plug for the drive side.
