Wheels coming loose as you crank hard is definitely a design flaw though  Anyone else agree with the Dale M600 opinion ?

3.0 series cannondales are terrible.

They weren't called 'crackendales' for nothing

They weren't called 'crackendales' at all actually, I believe the correct nickname is 'crack'n'fail' ;)

And to all you Mantra haters, I'm a former owner, and aside from being one of the coolest looking bikes ever they are actually a great ride if you take the time to learn how to ride them properly. Brake jack never bothered me, I had hydro discs on mine - don't know if that helped. And I used to jump steps and fly down hills on that thing - I'd still have it if it hadn't been a bit small for me. Good shock/fork setup had a lot to do with getting the best from that bike. It's really ridiculous to have it in a 5-bike vote with BSOs like the TREK and the Activator - read the numerous MTBR reviews if you don't believe me, long term owners know what this bike is really like.

Klein Mantra was a pile of shite. Looked kinda cool but rode so bad. Brake jack was the worst thing- you brake, the front dives and the back end pumped up. Just what you want when decending.

Strangely though the Mantra works ok as a single speed though...

GT also made some FS frames with pretty brake jack problems and I think some of those offerings should be included in the list.

i'll go for the hidden option of......

anything with an "extra" triangle!! (bikes have 2 not 3!!!!)

I don't think you can really bring "crock n doles" and cacktivators into this, as they are only mtb type bikes. ;)

From experience toss bikes include (no doubt this will upset a few people):
Any Y bike
Any Marin with a brake roller stem; any marin FS that is overly complicated, but still essentially a single pivot, however + points do go to Marin for their unbelievably strong matt paint.

Any E stay bike made out of steel or Ti (merlin inc).
Anything made out of "russian military" Ti...

Any FS bike that you're constantly fixing play in the @rse end, no matter how good they ride.
Anything that requires U brakes.
"Cheap" Aluminum...
Anything ever to come out of Winsconsin ;)
Anything that used the public to do product testing to see if it worked...

kona 2*9- what the fudge???

Now I've pretty much slated every design ever built or thought of, i'm off for a spin on my e stay saracen with my buddy on his 1991 karakoram....looks a little muddy out there... :D

With ya!

The mantra is one of the best looking bikes ever made in my opinion. I cant comment on the ride as I have never tried one. However I have seen reviews supporting both sides of the marmite divide on this one in the past.
