girlonbike your the best!
No, you can have an opinion about anything you like, based purely on personal belief, feelings and bias. That is the definition of the word opinion.
But to have an INFORMED opinion you must have some knowledge of the subject, otherwise your argument / opinion has no validity in fact.
In your case, you slam all British made bikes, and ridicule the OP's original question, based on nothing more than personal bias.
You appear to be the perfect example of someone entirely won over by marketing hype and advertising.
I am a huge fan of hand made frames especially, but not exclusively British hand made frames. I own examples from many well known and some almost unknown builders. I may resent the fact, or possibly celebrate the fact that Fat Chance bikes sell for far more money that many of my hand made beauties, but, I can say nothing against Fat Chance bikes, as I have never owned, never ridden, and barely ever looked at a Fat Chance. They may be great, they may be shyte, I have no idea, so I cannot voice an informed opinion, and so initially at least, as I felt I had nothing of interest to add to the thread, unlike you, I chose not to reply to the OP.
