Who has snow?

been a lovely blue sky sunny day in my corner of Dorset,no snow but blinkin' cold. BRR!!

Breathing the cold air.

No snow here in N/W Yorks yet.

Bitterly cold though. I went out for a ride this AM. Frozen mud was welcome after weeks of slop. Working hard kept me warm enough but I had to stop because the freezing air was hurting my lungs. I ended up with my scarf over my mouth but that just makes breathing more difficult. Really spoilt the ride and my chest hurt for an hour after getting back.

I do like to get out every day whatever the weather. I am doing greater distances over tougher routes than I have done before and like everyone else I am not getting any younger.

How do others manage or is it just me? Any suggestions? Apart from staying indoors,

Not really any about in Skipton. Odd flake here and there but it's not settling. Went over to York today and it was also clear as far east as that.

The land north and south of the Firth of Forth ie Fife and the Lothians excluding our eastern extremes is a funny place climate wise. Despite being on the North East coast of the UK as far as the Met office is concerned we dont tend to get the snow. Only tend to get hit if practically everyone else gets hit as well like last winter.

So oot on my tip find SS this afternoon in the blue skyed brilliant sunshine I observed big black scary clouds drifting down the east coast on route for the borders and northumberland. I'll be surprised if we get more than a cm in this entire cold snap and its brass monkeys cold at that

Funny but beautiful, and a kingdom no less? I have had a few camping trips up there. Watching otters and dolphins in the Firth. (or should that be the Forth? As you say, a funny place. ) Summer only though, I would love to see it in the winter.

You sure you've got the right Firth, there's more than one. Not sayin yer wrong mind, i'm not all that clued up on the local wildlife its just the forths a major industrialised stretch of water :?

Your right...my memory is shot! It was indeed Moray. I have done the coast of Fife though, mostly by bike. I think I remember some good forest tracks as well. Couldn't do the bridges unfortunatly, My partner didn't fancy it.

Anyway, sorry for temporary off topic.

My locale has dolphins to spare, and otters enough to satisfy.

We have kites and ospreys in our skies, and up the road we have orcas coming out of the woodwork.

I spend a lot of time with the dolphins here in the nursery, kayaking around at the change of tides.

It is a hard life.

There's plenty of snow inland of the N Wales coast,
it's freezing tonight so there will be a lot of ice around tomorrow.
Some major roads already impassable and a few minor ones too.

So it looks like I might take a break from biking for the next few days,
I suppose tomorrow I might fettle the indexing on my Gripshifts which seem to be going out in this cold! Not bad though, last time they got adjusted was mid-Summer!
