AW C'mon thats cheating ragnar, if you didn't get snow then the planets climate would really be screwed up

Anyhoo dont you northern types have other cunning and fun ways to get to work such as skis, dog/reindeer sleds, skidoos etc ;)

I just got home from riding my full susser a few miles two and from the offie, aided by my bigger dog. He really towed me up the hill, what a lad!!!!!! And that is only a year after he was told he was gonna lose his leg! :)

Got 6-9" here :D went out on the bike this afternoon which was great fun but had no brakes due to the snow compacting around the canti's  oh & the rear mech & cassett became a block of ice

No snow here in N/W Yorks yet.

Bitterly cold though. I went out for a ride this AM. Frozen mud was welcome after weeks of slop. Working hard kept me warm enough but I had to stop because the freezing air was hurting my lungs. I ended up with my scarf over my mouth but that just makes breathing more difficult. Really spoilt the ride and my chest hurt for an hour after getting back.

I do like to get out every day whatever the weather. I am doing greater distances over tougher routes than I have done before and like everyone else I am not getting any younger.

How do others manage or is it just me? Any suggestions? Apart from staying indoors, ;)

I use a buff doubled up over my face, helps take the edge off the cold air but easy enough to breathe through.

currently -6degrees on the thermo - meter so kinda chilly , but cloudless sky for the last week means nae sna' apart fom hills over 2,500ft :xmas-cool:
