Need a bit of advice with Flat Pedals please.
What would be authentic for a bike circa 1993'ish?

Generally find V8/12's a bit on the small size, use Easton Flatboys on my modern hardtail and my knees hate spd's
Any suggestions very welcome
Cheers
Rich

93 was very in the clips and straps era....

something like an odyssey sharkbite or triple trap may be passable though?

Fitted some XT beartraps to one of my rides recently and was pleasantly surprised how grippy they were. Nice and big platform too. They may be a little older than 1993 but they look the part.

for use with toe clips nothing beats a set of XC pro suntours or any campa mtb pedal IMHO

I don't have experience with XC Pro pedals,
but they do fetch strong money on eBay

On topic, Tioga Surefoot pedals were also quite popular bitd

Enjoy!!

Shame V12s are too small as I've been runnng them on my BMX for years and found them to be 100% reliable

BMX shop should have some bigger pedals, should be lightweight now as well as it's all teh rage in that scene at the moment

Only problem with BMX pedals is a lot of them are 1/2in thread.
I did use V12's Mags for a while , they were indeed reliable and lightweight too, but I think the shape and size suits the smaller foot or at least smaller than an 11.

Might have to go modern and stick with the Flatboys, they really are excellent. Have been offered some Powerplay x-plays, a very interesting shape, but i have no idea of the size or build quality.

Had some of the Tioga ones mentioned on an old bike, but they too are a bit on the small size as were the old LX cage pedals with straps
