As I discovered this afternoon after a long absence from having to do it....

Should have just been a quick case of undoing the lock nuts and cones to move the spindle across as it protruded beyond the drop out a tiny bit (QR hub), ended up thinking may as well regrease the thing even though it felt smooth (one cone is loose anyway)

2 hours, tons of swearing, discovery of ripped up and pitted cones later....  Did the best I could but still can't quite get the bl***y spindle dead central and I ended up giving up and putting it to one side again, seriously thinking of rebuilding wheel onto a sealed bearing hub....

AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! So what's your most hated job...?

Removing a fixed BB cup which is really fixed in place!

Allen key bolt head which is cheap & nasty, so the allen key rips it into a round hole.

Splitting a chain with my best chain splitter only to realise after I've pushed the pin
out and replaced pin that my Son had previously used my best chain splitter on his
BMX chain and now I'm left with a f*ucked link and the chain splitter is worthy of the bin.

Re:

Actually, this is starting to make me realise there's quite a few jobs I don't like....

Front mechs (although I often run a single ring up front) and cabling being two of them.

See, I like cabling up, find it quite relaxing.

Chain length set up, that's another dislike I have!

Re:

Restoring my sister in law's Yugoslavian bicycle from childhood which has non standard parts and had been left outside to rust for 20 yrs  took me 2yrs of her constant begging before I sorted it.
