what was your SECOND mountain bike?

Great thread!

My 2nd bike was a 1995 Barracuda Comp. Easton frameset, silver to purple fade, complete with Judy XC fork. I took it up a notch with the purple Ringle cage and no-name purple skewers.

Cannondale SM800 'Beast of the East' nonsense with a fully polished frame and Yellow forks. God only knows why they were Yellow!

I hated it.

It just beat me up.

I was quickly taken by Titanium frames...

2nd bike was a 1990 GT Tequesta with a purple and white sort of wet-bleeding paint job – fantastic bike, totally bomb-proof and fully rigid. I guess it is the reason for my love of u-braked GTs

Another great machine that fell to thieving f%$@ers back in the '90s – isn't it amazing just how many of us have fallen foul of that.

After the GT came the Rocky Team Comp and I think that one will be with me to the end.

My second one.

Second bike was one of my worst bike ever. never had one wich was more slappy then the Proflex 754.....

lockwork

a beautiful 1996 orange clockwork in orange and White, from No Sweat in barnstaple north Devon.

I can still feel the lower back pain of a 19 in frame with a zero degree stem 150mm long.

It was the time when mtb's were getting nicked, therefore I used to keep it my bedroom cuboard

One day I will get another one

'93 Plum coloured Orange Clockwork

I think I paid £265 for the frame/forks and put mostly DX on it.

Twas a truly great bike, and the skinny skinny forks absorbed so much noise.

Shame I sold it to someone at work and see it most days, bah....

Tange infinity - ahhhh

my second mtb was a 1993 marin bear valley se.... i had a muirwoods for a couple of months but my dad got fed up with me coming back from every ride saying "i just broke... i need a new..." so he bought me the bear valley... in fact it was a slippery slope for him 'cos i just got more and more into bikes and wanted more and more stuff
that bike ended up getting nicked whilst me and a mate were in a shop buying 'sweets' (fags)... the old man offered a £250 reward for it's( and my mates Gary Fisher) return in the local paper but to no avail... got a 16" Lava Dome as a replacement which i guess was my third bike and another story....
