what U got that exceeded/didn't exceed the expectations?

sort of curious about this,

Fat Chance are pretty sought after expensive frames to buy these days. i got my buckshaver, now don't get me wrong as i like it but it sort of didn't blow me away ride wise and i did in all honesty expect it to be so much nicer than all the other stuff i have.

on the other hand my dynatech, i didn't expect much from it but i really like it, it is very flexy when you deliberately push the pedal to flex the b/b shell but when on the bike and riding it feels really comfortable and fast.


so what didn't quite meet the expectation and what exceeded it?

my ribble road bike is the single best £250 i have ever spent on a cycling item. i love it, and if anyone wants it, they can pry it from my cold, dead hands.

i got a trek 9.8 with full xtr from 1998 ( iirc) it was awful, it had rolf wheels with so much flex every time i leant over for a bend the brakes came on. it creaked like a bitch and the cable stop for the front mech just fell off in my hand i had to araldite it back on. it was lovely to look at and feckin awful to ride i was totally gutted

I came into the biking scene mid to late 90`s kinda missing cantis/rigid period I have brought and tried a few to see what its all about but nothing really got me excited to justify the pain and misery they seem to inflict on me (the orange c16r for example )

Then I got my 1992 Roberts Dogs bolx.....Amazing steed

-The GT LTS is a very capable full bouncer too was always impressed with it

-Rock shox judys something I always wanted BITD but had no chance of affording them ...had loads now and really they are quite poo

my khs team ti AKA the noodle bike as there was enough flex to tie it into a knot twice you'd lean into a corner and the rear end would stay up right and the front would been right over was shocking and nearly killed me at mayhem in 2010 :shock: not good was glad to see the back of it best surprise was my c16r thought stx parts and onza ho's would be sort of ok but wow that bike was real nice
