What teas are we drinking?

Yorkshire tea for me too.

I also drink redbush and vanilla from Tetley. It's not got as much tannin as normal tea which means it's sweeter (without sugar). It's naturally caffeine free and it has more anti-oxidants. ;)

One thing you must have to make the perfect cuppa, imo, is a water filter. The difference this makes to the taste of the tea is very noticeable as it gets rid of most of the funny chemicals in the water (especially the chlorine).

As far as using leaf tea as opposed to bags, what's the point? :? I can't be arsed with faffing around with a tea strainer and teapot. Yes, you can get better quality teas (read more expensive) in leaf form but, imho, it's just not worth it unless you're a tea snob. It's like the difference between instant and filter coffee. As long as you get a decent quality tea bag/instant coffee it won't make that much difference. ;) :p

earl grey or pg either way no milk 2 sugers

ew sugar!

I used to take 3 sugars in tea, then came down to 2 for years, dropped to 1, then half, and about a year ago stopped it. It takes getting used to but once you stop the tea is so much nicer. I was a big sugar fan before and nobody could tell me otherwise, now i've seen the light!

Homeopathic tea. AKA water.

It tastes of nothing and does nothing to help me stay awake. I think that's the homeopathy myth busted (or am I not shaking it in the "correct" way?)

Excessive intake of tea or coffee enhances the quantity of urine

Really ? reallly ??

Eating or drinking too much of anything is never good for you , it's not exactly a revelation .

Yorkshire isn't too bad but I don't have a preference , I don't even care if it has sugar or not .

I do make it the correct way though -

Bag in mug - kettle on - splash of milk ( your going to have your tea milky , I don't care what you specified ) - wait for the kettle to boil - water in taking care not to splash it over yourself as you aim for the bag floating in the milk that seems to be water resistant - if your lucky the bag will float to the top and you can grab it , let it drain briefly then throw at the bin , otherwise your using a spoon .

Picture a mug of hot milky water that can tell its friends it once met a tea bag but didn't get on well enough to exchange numbers .

Milk in last is sick and wrong and slightly worse than touching other peoples children in an unfriendly or far too friendly way but come the revolution the milk in first people will banish the heathens to live in cages hidden on secluded islands off the coasts of those countries whose names you cannot pronounce .

I could say tea needs a water temp of above x degrees C and by adding the milk first, or not warning the pot, it wont brew properly. Why bother with the teabag at all, just water down some milk.

But i don't think your that bothered :p

or not warning the pot

Warning it of what ? that its going to receive tea imminently ? I think caring about the feelings of tea might be taking it a tad too far

The temperature of the water goes out of the window when you have to stand and try to merge all the colours into one tea like shade . It introduces too many variables . what if you miss judge the volume of the mug and put in too much water ? do you add less milk and hope for the best or add so much fluid to the poor mug and have the carpet take the excess ?

The proper way is fraught with less danger . You can't really get it wrong . If there is too much milk to begin with the bag just gets left in longer .
