I've found most meetings with dogs, horses and their owners whilst out riding to have been quite congenial. You get the odd group of ditherers that, rather than all move to one side, elect to spread themselves around in a sort of canine/human chicane for you to weave your way through.
It's also rather odd as to why people insist on walking on the bridle path, where bicycles are allowed, rather than the footpath that runs parallel, where they aren't.
