i hate collies

and so do my GSD'S

I'll see your 2 gsd's and raise you 2 American Bulldogs.

And the lurchers will be off catching squirrels and rabbits... ;)

The (Border) Collie had to go after he nipped my son.... shoulda kept the dog and rehomed the boy..

Fortunately most pet dogs are too fat to catch a cyclist before their heart gives up the ghost ;)

Most dog walkers are fine, i always slow down for them and they always make sure their dog is under control so i can pass safely, but the other week i see a elderly couple and their dog coming towards me from a distance so i slow down as usual. They have seen me so have plenty of time to move over to 1 side and get control of their dog, they don't and when we meet i get a torrid or abuse from both about why i should slow down (which i did) and how these downs aren't just for the likes of me and other hooligans on bikes.

I'm a calm and polite guy (i think!) but if people start off talking to me like that they get abuse back, i was abit ashamed of myself after from what i said, but then i had ridden about 1h 30m of uphill just to do about 5 mins of downhill only to get stopped by these dog wa*kers

I hate dog mess on the trail, horse doesn't bother me too much for some reason, I think it is the smell. Dog is truly awful.

Used to have a dog, and now he's gone have not replaced him, mowing the lawn is a pleasure now a days, picking up sh*t was the job in life I hated most.

I think now parks have got really tight on dogs mess and leads that some lazy arses have taken to the hills to let their dgs run free and crap everywhere and not have to clean it up.

Responsible dog owners, okay.
Responsible cyclists, okay.

The rest can take a running jump. End of.

at the end of the day we are all trying to use the countryside. does it really matter that much that we are using it for different things?

not all dog owners are happy to leave thirs dog eggs on the trail. the people that do do it because they are selfish, not because they are dog walkers.

In a word of 6 billion people, if only in every million is an a**ehole, that makes 6,000 on the planet - sounds like you just met two of them!

I took my brother's dog for a walk recently and nearly threw up when I had to bag up a sh*t - the smell was truly stomach churning .

Horse muck on the other hand doesn't really bother me at all .

I take it you don't have kids. 5 years of nappy changing will strengthen your stomach.

In fairness to the dog walkers, if the OP was riding where there was no right of way, then (a) he had it coming and (b) does the rest o f us no favours at all.

I hate people tearing up my trails with illegal motorbikes, but we have to play fair to ensure our rights get protected. There is enough tosh spouted from the likes of the Daily Mail about cyclists should not be on the road or have number plates. Riding in areas where there is no right of way only strengthens that argument.
