What do you hate seeing on a gorgeous retro bike?

i have agree there, white saddles/grips/bar tape, stupid because of the sheer amount time needed to keep them looking good or because you have to replace regularly because of how awful they look so quickly.

 Well mine's staying...

Owners trying too hard to make a size S or M frame work for their size L or XL bodies.

Yes, so annoying when those L or XL people buy small bikes....or vice versa. ;)

I like white saddles. I admittedly have a favorite saddle but it nice to see something different than the same 3 saddles on every build.

Buying and collecting cool bikes that don't fit is fine. It's only when you pretend they actually fit you that it's a problem.

LOL, I don't see any of this as fascism! I often look at a lovely retro build and groan out loud at the:

Modern rims.
'added' disk brake tabs.
Yep, me too, single speed.
No theme/continuity
High end frame with low end modern kit

...and green Wildgrippers.

*runs for the hills*

1. the canti hanger rule, if it's there you must use it.

Quite.

And lets be honest, if a bikes got 'V'-brakes then its not really retro anyway is it.

How about those long canti's that look like V-brakes?
