What do you enjoy most when building a bike.

Re:

I enjoy the whole process.

It always starts with finding the frame, deciding what the 'theme' will be and what it will end up looking like, building to an imagined specification.

Then looking to see if the finished bike meets or exceeds my original imagined spec.

Then, of course, the ride.... was it worth the time and effort?

Cleaning a dirty cassette until it's spanking shiney new.

can't say I particularly enjoy this one but to me it is a must that a cassette has to be spotless.

i like the cassettes that you can take completely apart for this.
shiney + lube = noiseless & tight feeling drivetrain.

i hate hearing that crunchy/squeaky noise you get when a chain and cassette is covered in grit and muck! :'(
