What can kill the looks of a bike for you?

Ooh ooh and another; I hate vast oversized alu tubing....unless it's got Cannondale, GT, or Klein written on it...or Funk. Hang on, I don't think I've thought that one through.

4-arm chainsets.

I don't know why, they just get my goat. Another case of Shimano deliberately trying to make stuff obsolete and so sell more todge.

4-arm cranksets= PUKE!

Rubbish engineering; Fugly aesthetics.

"Too much branding generally.
I'm sorry, but I don't see why I should ride a bike that's basically a free advert for the manufacturer, even if it is cool"

yep

" fat men in lycra "

yep . no point stressing that your stem matches your socks if your a fatty fat fat fat

"xc" riders who insist on buying alllllll the kit  clips , clear glasses , lycra skinsuit , bag , camelback , gloves , all that jazz . no bike looks good under that mess

alloy frames that arnt suspension

also agree with the touchers who buy all the bling parts . post pics . sell on . just learn to use photoshop for fook sake

oh and obsessive gram counting by armchair dwellers who themselves weigh more than 13 stone . comeon carbon brakelevers and ti bottlecage bolts are the least of your worries

the best looking bikes are the ones getting used

I am guilty of some of the above  but dont care

The only thing that really niggles me is stuff that gets built for 'pictures' and then stripped and sold on ? :?

Agreed, Seems a pointless exercise to me.

Don't knock other people's hobbies. They are no more (or less) pointless than your own.

..But it's not my cup of tea either. I own bikes to ride, and hate logos.

And the purists will shudder at how un-original my bike is. Fair enough.

I am not !

I havnt said it's wrong - just that it niggles ME :D

It would be no fun around here if we were all the same

(which of course, have less than 28 spokes, and spokes in pairs, and nipples on the wrong end of the spokes, and straight pull spokes, and black spokes, etc...)

-Brittle imported mass produced Carbon Fiber garbage made by folks not afforded a living wage.

-The new Spooky. Are you kidding me? You're still not faster than my mom. Junk. Might as well have "Trek" on the downtube...

No worries, all part of the fun.

But I don't like that nerdy car-concours thing either.....

"Well, not a bad build, and far be it for me to criticise but actually in 1993 Shimano used red grease not green for hub bearings...and Marin used KMC chains not Sedis..."
