Machines surfaces came a few year later with the 117/217 I think, but ceramic was there

All the CD/TIB surfaces worked better once the CD/TIB had worn away, at least for me.

Did read with interest in the link you provided (great link! ) they mention the milled surface is more effective for brake efficiency.I'm assuming the CD coating doesn't transfer the heat as readily as bare ally.
