Happy New Year to you all.

I’m looking for any of the parts that made up the Mavic 1000 SSC groupset and hoping you have a few of the French components you’d be prepared to part with.
I have a 1987 Peugeot 531 Professional project I’d like to strip and build up with Mavic and ideally would like the following

Headset 310
Handlebar 350
Stem 365
Brakes 430
Hubs 550
Bottom Bracket 612
Front Derailleur 860 clamp on
Rear Derailleur 851
Shift Levers 820

Also looking for the clincher MA40 or tubular GP4 or GL330 or, if possible, the Paris Roubaix SSC rims.

Thank you in advance,

Simon

Happy New Year.
I have a set of those hubs somewhere, although could take me a while to locate them where they're stored. Also pretty sure I have at least one of those tub rim sets, but they'd be built up into wheels so possibly not what you want. Although one of the sets may have the Mavic hubs you're after, so possibly would be killing two birds with one stone:)

Thanks walkmanman, no rush as this will probably be a slow build but please do let me know what you find and prices. Really appreciate it

Hi,

Might have a few of those parts

Shifters - need a clean, photos make them look worse than they are! If I were using them (which I still may) would be giving them a good buff and maybe tidy up the burrs on the screws with a file. 2D6B7643-3B85-4A92-9BC2-64160BB7C573.jpeg 458B0D71-D03E-41A8-804E-964296729617.jpeg

Mavic hubs with skewers on Mavic Argent 10 tubular rims, 32h

I found a single GP4 tubular in 32h flavour

Somewhere out of reach/sight in the garage is a pair of MA40 clinchers in 36h flavour

7 or 8 speed Sachs blocks for the Mavic hub. Guess you’d be running 7

The headset is either 311 french or 312 eng/italian, which one? 310 is the generic.
Shift levers are 821 or the Simplex ones, which one?
Bottom brackets are 600, 610, 616. Which one and what axle length?
851 rear mech for SSC, I assume short cage?
I have these and the correct headset tool if required.
I have wheels with excellent rims in ma40 grey, open cd4 etc,
Possibly other Mavic parts, I'd have to have a dig in the shed.

Wow, thank you for all the responses. Was not expecting to get nearly as much traction as this.

@mdvineng I’ll taking apart this week and should have the answers on headset threading.

Definitely want the Mavic shifters but they are listed as 820 in the 1986-87 Mavic catalogue.

Bottom bracket is the 612 RD 116mm.

851 shortcage rear derailleur.

Thank you all for getting in touch.

Update.

Visited @mdvineng today as it turns out he lives not too far away.
Was great to meet you Dave and thanks for the parts and knowledge.
I now have derailleur, shifters, headset and headset tools, chainrings, wheels, hubs and rear blocks and bottom bracket.
On top of that I have the right crank arm, front calliper and brake lever.

So, still on the hunt for parts to complete or full set brakes, levers, left crank arm.
Also after bars and stem.

Cheers,

Simon

You might have forgotten about the parts search I promised to make following such a delay to follow up. But just to advise that I have been searching but didn't want to report back without having turned up something. Unfortunately though, I discovered that the tub wheels I mentioned (with GL330 rims as it happens) I have didn't have the mavic hubs I thought they would, and another set with the hubs had the wrong rims. Also, I'd only been able to retrieve one of the separate hubs I've got, although I see that you're now covered for the hubs anyway. The only thing I did turn up was a Mavic stem, but here as well there was bad luck as it was an older model than the one you're after. Nevermind, hope you find everything.

Thank you very much for looking, I really appreciate it.
If I don’t get the first choice stem, I’ll definitely get in touch on the one you have.

Peugeot bikes normally had been merried with componwnts from Simplex, MAFAC and Stronglight

no MAVIC - but I have a box full of it what you looking for ??? Here some samples

for 1000 SSC you need a BB with 116 mm axle, when mount a MAVIC 630 crank
860 front mech with clamp are available, I have also a cheaper version of the 310 headset a 302 but bearing balls not complete or you have to change them and it has som bad scratches
Brake calipers are as MAVIC 430 SSC labeled or as Modolo Master Pro, brake levers as Modolos only alternatively a Pair of Mavic 440 / Modolo Mach2 without labelling ...the first real aero levers by Mavic

SACHS-Maillard sprokets also available in 7speed and 8speed

...but be informed MAVIC brakes 451 and the 500/550 hubset are sold and braze front mech 2nd Gen only still 1 is available

Greetings from Germany
Thomas
