First time I've seen her take-off in the flesh since the last Bournemouth airshow in 1991!
Made my skin prickle, I tell thee

PS...click for video ;)

Fantastic, takes me back to my childhood when they used to fly over my school everyday.

I saw its farewell show at Finningley but I forget the year, would that be 1991?

Think it was 91. Was always the highlight of shows for me. Glad I decided to go on the Saturday as it couldn't fly on Sunday!

Great to see it flying. My dad was part of the design team for the Vulcan at AVRO and then BAE as it became.
As a child I visited the cockpit while it was on the ground which, as it was still a classified and operational aircraft at the time, must've been a pretty rare opportunity.

My dad also has a few reels of cold war classified ballistic nuclear missile test footage which he borrowed from the archive to test out a 16mm projector he'd picked up. Incredible shots of a dummy missile being dropped into the airflow through the bomb bay doors.

Scary stuff when you think about it, but such a beautiful plane nonetheless.

I saw one fly at an airshow in north devon, again must have been 1990/1991 ish. A staggeringly impressive sight!

I saw the Vulcan at the Jersey Airshow a couple of years ago - it was amazing and slightly disappointing - the pilots weren't allowed to give it the full beans as the last time they did, apparently most of the car and building alarms were set off!!

Great engenering, and havign sat in one there was not a lot of room for any one. But at the end of the day it was there for one reason and one reson only To kill lots of people indiscriminatly.
