Viscount Pullman the one that was on Ebay for ages

Raleigh Fan
I have had an eye on this for a while as it was only 25 miles away but prefer a project rather than something this nice but wanted to try a SA dynohub which not only does this have but some newer LED lights to go with it.
I cannot find anything on this model, it does seem to be a 3 speed specific frame so I presume it is at least fairly original although with some upgrades. The hub is dated 75 and I think it has had a resent respray although the seller thought it had just been well looked after, either way a nice bike for the money.
It will get a strip down and re-grease and my usual lower gearing/higher handlebars conversion, at 14.5kg it is not exactly light but I might save some weight with a few aluminium parts.
If anyone knows more about this particular model I would be interested to hear, Mr. Google does not seem to reveal much but I will keep looking.

After a strip down for an inspection and greasing it is back together with a few updates. I would say the frameset was professionally resprayed as it is a very nice job but some of the other parts were a bit edgy such as the seat clamp and seatpost bolt along with other fasteners which have all been replaced.
It how has SR riser bars and stem with better quality Weinmann brake levers, the original were a bit crap to say the least, it also has an SR Apex crankset with 36t chainring and some SR touring pedals attached by an SR bottom bracket. The original mudguards were Raleigh but for 26" wheels and now has a pair of Spencer alloy guards the right size and a Tonard rack.
The saddle has been replace with a period correct Brooks albeit a plastic one, the Zefal pump has been replaced by a Bluemels.

And a 15 mile round trip down to the coast for some shopping.

That's much better :)

Is the stem designed to stick out that much or are you taking a bit of a risk?

Someone on Bike forums asked the same question, those stems come in three lengths and that is the longest and is in to the minimum insert mark but as it is stainless tubing I cannot imagine it just breaking like aluminium, it would bend first.
