hi i never realy get flats anymore running tubes but in the summer with all the thorns on tow paths ect last year we had a hard time ( i got none a mate got about 10 in one go) any way planning ahead thinking of making my none tubeless kit tubeless, anyone find it good? ive looked up an seen a few pepl saying amazing wont run tubes again ect but want to hear a few more peoples opinions

Tubed or tubeless, there's a massive difference in how puncture proof, or not, different tyres are. I gave up on a pair of Panaracer Mach SS because I reckon I got a puncture, on average, about once every 15 miles. I replaced them with a pair of Schwalbe Sammy Slicks, done about 200 miles so far and have yet to have a puncture.

I really rate Schwalbe tyres and now have them on all three of my bikes and their various puncture protection systems, RaceGuard, KevlarGuard, etc. do seem to be pretty effective.

I've ran tubeless for about 6yrs or more. I went tubeless due to pinch punctures and ripping valves off with braking. It's been brilliant. When I changed the tyres the other month, there were a few thorns in them that I never knew about. It's not a perfect system, it can be difficult to set up and they don't seal everything, but I won't go back

The biggest difference to me is rolling resistance and the fact that you can run low pressures without risk of pinch punctures. I run 29x3" tyres at 8-10psi - no tubes means saving a whopping 1.5kg of tubes and levels of grip I've rarely experienced. I wouldn't think of riding offroad without it.
