Insurers will payout to customers, if the cause is deemed to be civil unrest or riot the costs will be claimed back from government.

Not nessesarily. Most insurance companys don't pay out if its a riot, apparently. So there will be a few burnt out buildings for a while, as a reminder.

Where no insurance payout is made the tax payer will pay out, so no one who can provide evidence of riot losses should ultimately have those unmet. Cold comfort meanwhile.

In the past in Northern Ireland if the locals had a wee argy bargy the army appeared with armoured vehicles, baton rounds and tear gas. On mainland UK its up to the police with way less equipment, double standards it seems to me. Bring over some of the Ulster Constabulary and lets see how long the rioters wish to keep up their antics ;)

The IPCC says the Forensic Science Service has also confirmed that the bullet lodged in a police radio was police issue and consistent with being fired from a police gun.

The Independent Police Complaints commission says ballistic test results so far show no evidence that a handgun found at the scene of the fatal police shooting of Mark Duggan had been fired. It says the Forensic Science Service is carrying out further tests to confirm this.

Whoops! oh well he still had a gun...

Here we go again, been recalled to duty early for a night of havoc no doubt in our second city, lets see what the night brings. Hopefully tonight it wont be playing catch up with the ferral youth of our streets and we can 'convince' them in a paeceful manner to go home and play on there stolen Wii Station 360's!
