Today's Ride

Again, apologies as I hardly ever take my phone out on rides.
Glorious sunshine today and I did have the camera so snapped a few pictures of the bike with graffiti for that thread and planned to take a lot more pictures but ride was much more winter than I had expected, still plenty of frost and snow patches about. Just did a nice easy 6 miles to blow the cobwebs off and test a few things out.

Was riding down the street this morning, turned right on the sidewalk where I lost the front wheel on the icing rain and hit the ground like a whale with my upper body. Could hardly breath and had to rest on my knees for a minute. Bruised ribs and pain in the shoulder, but nothing serious, luckily 😌 Good excuse not to go cycling this weekend, it's too cold anyway ;)

Hope the bike is OK! 🤣
Next time better luck! 👍

Stellar day, so went off the beaten track a bit. Saw lots of (camera shy) roe deer and a few forgotten Bronze Age burial mounds.
Warm in the sun, but still frosty in the hollows and cold air woolly hatsville..
(Another 25 miles further in the contest between the Brooks team pro and my arse: you may win the battle Brooks, but the war will be mine…. 💪 🍑)

Brooks are great once they've broken in.
Until then we can guess at what Bubbas special friend feels 😖😖🫣

Very true. I usually run swifts and B17s which capitulate fairly quickly, but this one is a thick beast and taking its sweet time. (despite all my tough talk, I may swap it for a B68 or 72).
Couldn't get on with the swift, B17 I love, not the narrow though. I find the Pro a good saddle that takes at least twice the break in. Persevere mate, it will turn out fine 😁

Had planned to cycle to Hownsgill Viaduct and back today which would be a bit over 100km round trip, however lastnight I ended up going and running a 5k out of pure spite which did a bit of a number on my legs having not really ran since school PE lessons so bottled it 😂 Just kept it localish, ended up around 66km with 468m elevation.

Wouldn't think this picture was England in January 🍻
