Today's ride is actually a compilation of several days but it has been awhile since I have contributed anything. Still really hot here with temps in the 100s today and yesterday. Nice in the evening though.


I have a tendency to write things in reverse order, so I will leave the above as an example

It is way too hot during summer in SOCAL for me these days, but it does have some beautiful spots. Today-Sunday-Nice this morning, about 72 F. and sunny-We climbed about 1000' up to the West of town today...

Today's ride was my first on my latest project. An 84 Dawes Ranger. Arguably the first British production mtb. Reynolds 531ATB tubing. Get a load of the length of it! Not leaning and 22" frame. Wonderful winter rebuild ahead. Location just for you Pat.

Today-Monday-Really hot here this afternoon- 90F. my personal upper limit for starting a ride, unlike Steven in SOCAL, who has even higher temps most of the Summer and has no choice. We rode up into the deepest, coolest spot above Fairfax I know, deep in the Redwoods with a Northern exposure that barely ever sees the Sun and about 20 degrees cooler than down in town. Nice to be there for a cool extended break in Church...

Today-Tuesday-The Bay Area Air Conditioner (AKA-Fog Bank) kicked in overnight, and this afternoon was 15 degrees cooler, at 75 F. in Fairfax today -Rode with Charlie Kelly up to the West of town about 900' today, he rode his new Breezer Repack with 160mm travel, Nice Bike...

Today-Saturday-Another Summer day, about 82 F. and sunny in Fairfax, but really hazy on the Bay- you couldn't even see the Bay from Tamarancho today-picture illustrates this. It could be some smoke from Forest fires in NORCAL mixing in, but doesn't smell smoky out.- Nice in the shade at the top, though...
