POETS day group MTB ride up on the Downs near Falmer.

I have OS maps and I did look on Google Earth first but no idea the traffic would be so bad. I've found a few nice routes for summer, just need to get the fitness up now

The only app I pay for is the OS one. I think it's a bargain for about £25/year. I can look at any part of the UK on my phone - and it seems to show bridleways that aren't on the paper maps. I find it really helpful for finding new routes.

Second that comment, it’s brilliant for plotting routes as long as you subscribe. My mate thought it was shite then got a free trial and has never looked back. Being able to share the route via .gpx is really handy too.

It's also accurate on walking speed, and not bad on cycling speed.
Shows you where you are, straight onto the map.

"Around the block" once again, but this time on the lovely EddyM Corsa 01 which I bought off this site a few months ago. Not really geared for hills/ascents and definitely a product of its age, but superb to see the chrome in the sunshine.
