Today's Ride

44km, 421m of elevation and very cold fingers. Went for a hill I hadn't been up in nearly 3 months so around the time I quit smoking, not the most amazing thing at 0.56km, 47m gain and an average grade of 8.2% (hits 20% in some places) however had knocked off 37s in time and more importantly I didn't feel fucked at the top 😂

Last few km were a bit ropey, on a shared tarmac path and thought to myself "whys everyone walking on the grass verge", got closer and realized the entire path had iced over. Fortunately made it home in one piece and then saw my saddle bag had somehow unzipped itself, luckily nothing lost.

Today's dryish ride, 26ish miles, legs felt heavy and tired but still lots of smiles riding another local loop

Beautiful viaduct, reminds me theres a couple near me I still need to visit! fairplay everyone getting out there as it gets progressively colder.

Was too late fumbling with my winter gloves and getting my camera out to catch the train going across! Amazing to think the bricks were fired onsite and the whole thing completed in a little over two years……..by hand!

Near Corby isn't it? Sure I passed it on a day trip to Adrenaline Alley around 2008/2009. Shame daylight is so short now since there's a couple good ones in my region but not enough time to reach em, Hownsgill for example which I think is on the c2c route. Ah well, always next summer!
