Surely nothing could go wrong on a second 100k attempt right? No pump or spare tube couldn't possibly come back to haunt me, and I definitely would've done my due diligence regarding sharp stragglers on yesterday's roadside repair right?

70k or so in and at probably the furthest point from any bike accessible public transport I notice the back end feeling very spongy and quickly realise it's lost a shit ton of air. Instant u turn and a slow tentative 9k into the closest town, caught another cyclist taking a break who fortunately had a pump. Blitzed the last 4k into town before it lost air again and just managed to catch the hourly train service.
Lesson learned, bulk bought tubes and a new pumpThird time lucky?
What model is that? Is it a Unit?
Yesterday evening, in and out of the mist/mizzle. Fairly mild 12 degrees and very few vistasStill, always time well spent in the saddle.

Ah yes, the Blast. Yep, this era was as you said. Solid hardtails, big gussets. I reckon they'll be the next big retro thing in 10 years or so.Roughly an 07/08/09 Blast Deluxe, I'm pretty sure Kona just used the same frame geometries for their "back country" bike lineup during that era and I wouldn't be surprised if this was very close to the same geometry as a Unit from that time. Was a slightly inebriated fb marketplace buy, ended up putting some rigid Identiti XC forks on it and going 1x9 amongst various other changes so not too far off a Unit![]()
